April 23, 2022: Ozone Falls and Dinner at "Cabin in the Woods"

 We had a lovely time at Ozone Falls close to Les and Barb's cabin and then enjoyed dinner at their homestead. 

The deck on top is Les and Barb's kitty's (Camo) favorite outside venue. It is safe for her and allows her to enjoy the great outdoors. 
This is a view of the "Cabin in the Woods" from the back of the house, note the pretty mountain range behind the cabin. Everything is just starting to bloom out, including several dogwoods and redbuds. Barb has lots of surprises in store; as there are several different perennials getting ready to bloom. We did identify peonies and I think she has some azaleas as well. 

This is a creek on Les and Barb's property. It is a lovely little wading spot with a gentle sandy spot and great sitting rocks.

 We started our tour on Sunday with "the cottages" tour. These were the elaborate dwelling of the rich and famous who settled the island as a hunting preserve 1878 until WWII. They lived in luxurious conditions throughout that time, spending winters on the island for their exclusive use. What also caught my eye was the entourage of servants they brought with them to support their lifestyle. They had electricity and indoor plumbing early on. The pictures below depict one of the cottages. The cabinet is an ice box (ice on top to keep food cold). This was one of the few houses who had a kitchen. Crossville, Tennessee April 19th

 This is easiest one of the nicest most picturesque parks we have stayed in. We are in site 4, overlooking a fishing pond. This is a well spaced park with 57 sites. There is a nice walking trail around the perimeter of the park. It is just great!
