Traveling West to East Coast

On April 9th, we embarked on our cross country adventure. First stop was Denny and Kathy's, then on to Winnemucca, Nevada; Salt Lake City; Wyoming, Missouri, then Nashville. 

Steve has been battling a tailbone injury and a UTI (yes both at the same time). We thought it was important that I learn to drive the 5th wheel; which I did across the Winnemucca and Utah desert. It went fine, although I was nervous. 


 










Trip across the country was eventful as in winter weather! On the upside, all the RV parks were nice. We were able to keep to schedule as well. 

On the interesting side, we blizzard conditions across Wyoming; then freezing (12 degrees) temps in Rawlins, Wyoming. Steve was an excellent driver through all of that!

 We started our tour on Sunday with "the cottages" tour. These were the elaborate dwelling of the rich and famous who settled the island as a hunting preserve 1878 until WWII. They lived in luxurious conditions throughout that time, spending winters on the island for their exclusive use. What also caught my eye was the entourage of servants they brought with them to support their lifestyle. They had electricity and indoor plumbing early on. The pictures below depict one of the cottages. The cabinet is an ice box (ice on top to keep food cold). This was one of the few houses who had a kitchen. Crossville, Tennessee April 19th

 This is easiest one of the nicest most picturesque parks we have stayed in. We are in site 4, overlooking a fishing pond. This is a well spaced park with 57 sites. There is a nice walking trail around the perimeter of the park. It is just great!
